Halo: Reach will be out in a couple of days and I can't help but share my hatred towards thousands of Halo fans who'll soon run to buy this game. I completed Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST and I still can't manage to understand what's so great about this game. Let's be serious: this game has a lot of flaws on all regards. It can surely not say it has evolved over the years.

Scott Pilgrim
Article originally written in French by Solo the CyberpunK and translated in English by DarkEvil.

Scott Pilgrim, it's 6 volumes of about 170-180 pages each sold at about a dozen dollars. 5 are already out and the last one is supposed to come out at the end of July 2010.
Scott is a 23 years old guy, unemployed, living with his roommate and friend Wallace in a small apartment (they don't have a kitchen table). He's part of a band, Sex Bob-Omb, which pretty much sucks... The story begins (not at the very beginning) when Scott, who's constantly dreaming of a girl, finally meets her in real life. They begin to know each other and she tells him that if he wants to officially date her, he'll have to fight her 7 ex-boyfriends.

At the comic book store
Article originally written in French by Solo the CyberpunK and translated in English by DarkEvil.

There are other things than the well-known superheroes in graphic novels. It might be difficult to get good suggestions if people you know don't read these types of books. Here is some advice for a start.
By navigating on the DC Comics website, I discovered that the release of the movie Watchmen had some positive consequences: a section named "After Watchmen... What’s Next?" proposing to people who're interested in comics the best series under diverse categories. Having read many of the suggested graphic novels, I must say this site is a very good guide, but know that they only list DC Comics publications (obviously)... The first issue of each of these series are now available in stores for 1,25$, which is a very good way to broaden your horizons.

Bigger, Stronger, Faster*

It's a documentary about the use of steroids in America. The subtitle being "The Side Effects of Being American". The question asked by the movie is: "how much is this drug used in the United States?" Only when you look at the whole question from some distance do you realize that not only is publicized, but frankly approved by the people.

Dragon Ball (first 16 tomes/anime series)
Article originally written in French by DarkEvil, also responsible for the English translation.

First of all, so as to not create a confusion, this article's goal is mainly to talk about Dragon Ball (the first 16 tomes of the manga and then, the anime series), not Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball GT.
Now that this is taken care of, I've always liked the Dragon Ball mangas, that is to say as soon as I read one. This series is a perfect combination of humor, action and suspense, sometimes even drama, also featuring Akira Toriyama's unique and instantly recognizable style (also used in video games such as Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior, for example). Talking about the humor, I rarely laugh when reading normally, even when I find something funny, but there are some passages in these mangas that can cause nothing else than a good laugh. The action scenes are the most intense and immense thing you can think of, but you should know that already if you've ever heard anything about Dragon Ball. Furthermore, this is a series that takes many roads you won't often see anywhere else, like MANY main characters dying or any character for that matter. I remember it was impossible to wait before buying the next tome, because following Dragon Ball from beginning to end is one of the most unique and memorable adventure.

HomestarRunner.com
Article originally written in French by Solo the CyberpunK and translated in English by DarkEvil.
See original here.
Strong Bad and the Homestar Runner gang have become a lot more popular lately with the series of adventure games available online at TelltaleGames.com or on the Wii as a WiiWare, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. The characters originally appeared on the site HomestarRunner.com as flash animations.
If you're not already familiar with the games, I suggest you check the animations on the site, because a lot of the jokes refer to precise episodes. When we know them, the game is really funnier. The five episodes of the game are now available and demos too, if you want to try.
