Homestar Runner characterStrong Bad and the Homestar Runner gang have become a lot more popular lately with the series of adventure games available online at TelltaleGames.com or on the Wii as a WiiWare, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. The characters originally appeared on the site HomestarRunner.com as flash animations.

If you're not already familiar with the games, I suggest you check the animations on the site, because a lot of the jokes refer to precise episodes. When we know them, the game is really funnier. The five episodes of the game are now available and demos too, if you want to try. The characters are really the selling point. Each is unique with its own personality. They're completely heteroclite, each of them seems to come from a different planet... The humor is just absurd. (Wait until you know Homsar...) I love it!

There are different "programs", like Strong Bad E-mails, Powered by The Cheat, Marzipan's Answering Machine, etc., which get more and more original.

The Strong Bad E-mail episodes and "everything else" (as an Everything Else compilation), are available on DVD via the online store on the site. Personnaly, I think the DVDs are a plus, because they give you access to all the episodes to listen consecutively even with the bonus scenes at the end. Furthermore, because the sales from the website don't go through a third party, more money must go to the artists. I find buying the DVDs are a good way to encourage them.

A Wiki is available, Homestar Runner Wiki, from which you can learn more about that particular universe.

I suggest you visit the site, HomestarRunner.com, you will likely fall under the charm of these strange characters and you'll have a hard time leaving the site without telling yourself «OK, just one more...»
